Major Impact Grant Recipients

The Wexford Foundation looks for opportunities to help deserving agencies make  a major impact in their community or make a transformational change in their ability to deliver services to their clients.  When these special opportunities arise, the Foundation awards a Major Impact Grant.

Hopeful Horizons

In 2016, the Wexford Foundation awarded a substantial Major Impact Grant to Hopeful Horizons, which allowed them to open a new satellite office in Bluffton. In 2018 the Foundation awarded a second Major Impact Grant of $50,000 to Hopeful Horizons to renovate the kitchen and dining area of their domestic abuse shelter in Beaufort. 

Family Promise

In 2017, the Wexford Foundation awarded a Major Impact Grant of $24,275 to Family Promise who provide food, shelter and support services to homeless families with children. This grant enabled them to purchase a new bus and provide much needed transportation for the families in their program. 

Volunteers In Medicine

A Major Impact Grant from the Wexford Foundation for $47,200 in 2018 will cover the acquisition of and implementation of dental chairs and x-ray equipment which will enable VIM to increase and improve the dental and medical services it provides to the underinsured or uninsured residents in our area.

The Children's Center

With some 170 young children enrolled The Children’s Center identified the need to enhance their security systems to ensure the safety of so many young lives. The Major Impact Grant for $20,000 from the Wexford Foundation will provide additional cameras, secure access, perimeter fence improvements and rapid emergency communications.
